Our Coach

The McGill University Sailing Team’s head coach is Jessica Lombard, who is fondly known to the team as Coach Jess. Since Jess was first hired to coach the team in fall 2008 she has been a major driving force that has turned the team into a high performance sailing team. Jess’s resume is extensive and she is indeed one of the best coaches in Canada.

About Jess

Jess grew up sailing in the Montreal area spending time between the Hudson Yacht Club and the Royal St Lawrence Yacht Club. She raced Laser Radials at an international level for years before turning her attention to coaching. Jess has her Level III coaching level (Orange) and has coached the RStLYC Optimist and Laser/ Radial teams and has achieved great results with these teams. Jess also works extensively with the Laser and Radial sailors on the Quebec Sailing Team by running clinics and coaching at major events like Miami OCR. In October 2010 Jess was announced the Fédération de voile du Québec Coach of the Year.
