McGill University Sailing Team
Ranked 1st in CICSA (Canadian Intercollegiate Sailing Association)
Ranked 28th in NEISA (New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association)
The McGill Sailing Team is a competitive, student-led, club sailing team.
Throughout our season (September-November) we compete in college sailing style regattas all over Canada and New England. The team practices at the Royal St Lawrence Yacht Club in our fleet of 12 club 420’s.
Most college sailing regattas are sailed double-handed dinghies in 420’s or FJ’s. We can also send sailors to a variety of keelboat, singlehanded, team race, and match race events throughout the season.
Social events are also an important part of team life. Throughout the year, we have fundraisers, “family nights,” and a ski trip in early January. Off season, we stay active and competitive by playing intramural ice hockey, water polo, and by racing everywhere from Florida to New England.
To join the team, we require sailing experience, and frequently take sailors with little or no racing experience click on prospective sailors to learn more about joining the team!
