McGill University Sailing Team
Ranked 1st in CICSA (Canadian Intercollegiate Sailing Association)
Ranked 28th in NEISA (New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association)
The McGill Sailing Team is a competitive, student-led, club sailing team.
Throughout our season (September-November) we compete in college sailing style regattas all over Canada and up and throughout New England. The team practices out of the Royal St Lawrence Yacht Club in our fleet of 12 club 420’s.
While most college sailing regattas are sailed in double-handed dinghies, such as 420’s or FJ’s, we also send sailors to a variety of keelboat, singlehanded, team race, and match race events throughout the season.
Social events are also an important part of life on the team. Throughout the year, we have fundraisers, “family nights,” and a ski trip in early January. We stay active and competitive by playing intramural sports such as ice hockey and water polo, and by racing everywhere from Florida to New England in keelboat, fleet race, and team race regattas.
